Historic Markerville is a quaint, riverside community established in 1888 by Icelandic immigrants, located just 30 minutes SW of Red Deer.

Its home to many historic sites including the Markerville Creamery Museum, built in 1902 and restored to its 1932 appearance. Guided tours are offered through the butter making process, a beautiful courtyard with picnic tables and interactive, stationary milking cows for kids of all ages. The museum hosts a gift shop, featuring local products and a Kaffistofa (coffee shop) which is well known for its Icelandic specialities, coffee and ice cream. Open May 18th to September 2nd, 2013.

Historic Fensala Hall has provided a gathering place for the community for over 100 years. This country hall, built in 1904 and fully restored in 2006 with commercial upgrades, offers year-round rentals for hosting your special event. The Hall offers table seating for 100 guests or theatre style seating for 140. Food service focusing on local farm products is available upon request.

Historic Markerville Lutheran Church is a quaint, country church, built in 1907 and restored in 2009. It seats 100 guests and offers year-round rentals for weddings, family reunions or other special events. During the summer season, the church is open daily offering an opportunity to spend a quiet moment.
